Dear Friends and Members of CCH,

I am so pleased with the new interest and growth in this
congregation. We are welcoming 6 more members on Sunday
June 1st. That will bring the total to 11 for 2008. Every small
church, including this one, really looks forward to that kind of
celebration.

We also celebrated the history of this congregation this month.
We told some of the story of Florida, Mariaville and the
Princetown Presbyterian Church and their coming together to
become Christ's Church of the Hills.

We also look forward to the Good Ground pre-school
graduation on June 20th. This wonderful ministry of your
church will be sending a new "crop" of children to
kindergarten prepared not only with numbers and ABC's, but
bible stories and values and good practice at playing and
working well with others.

The adults are learning too. There is interest in a new Bible
Study, we are more than half way through a Financial
Management class, several members are off to the Women of
faith Conference this month and we are planning the annual
Vacation bible School for July 20-24.

We are serving lunches this summer in downtown
Schenectady, and looking for ways there and closer to home
that we might be involved making a difference in the
community.

These are by no means all the efforts of the people of this
congregation. They represent our collective efforts in ministry,
and our determination to move forward, growing in number
and in depth of faith in God.

All this needs to be sustained and led by prayer. We need the
community of CCH to pray on a regular basis for God's leading
to be clear, and that God would strengthen and encourage all
who seek to serve. Prayer is the path on which we will
discover our path as a congregation called to serve this
community. Will you please pray for this work regularly?
Please let me know what you learn.

Peace be with you and your family,

Susan Strang

The Deacon's Corner

There were no communications this month.

Our sick and shut-ins were remembered.

The progressive dinner will be May 31, 2008 with Judi Lucks
and Sandy Bianchine as the planning committee.

All the women in the congregation received a gift for Mother's
Day and following the worship service a reception of punch
and cake was held for our new members that made their
confirmation. They were Kate Nelson, Meghan Pirrone, and
Sean Koetzner.

Nancy had been approached regarding a meal for twenty to
twenty-five Habitat for Humanity workers. She made a meal
and Jane Quick went with her to deliver it and observe. The
Deacons voted to give her some money to help offset some of
her costs. This was another community service where some of
your money is spent.

Please remember to keep us informed of anyone needing our
services.

Your Deacons: Peg Cernik, Deanna Johnson, Judi Lucks, Karen
McKean, Nancy Marotta, Carmen Mulyca, Abby Nelson, Betsy
Nelson, and John Scheuer.
