The Deacon's Corner We have received three applications for camp scholarships. The Red Cross sent a letter offering a baby sitting class. Deacon Judi Lucks is chairperson for VBS again this year. It will be held July 26 through July 31. We will serving ice cream and cookies the last night. Our sick and shut-in members and friends were remembered. Please remember to keep us informed of anyone needing our services as we are not meeting for the months of July and August. Your Deacons: Lena Becker, Kim Ciezkowski, Deanna Johnson, Judi Lucks, Nancy Marotta, Carmen Mulyca, Abby Nelson, John Scheuer, and Jean Tromblee.

Christian Education July 2009 Sunday school ended June 7th when the kids made Father's day cards on Communion Sunday. The youth had their end of the year picnic at the Gregg farm that same day following church. Great fun was had by all. They enjoyed good food and lots of animals from bull frogs to horses. I would like to thank the Greggs again for their hospitality. On June 14th I handed out bibles to our third graders, Clare Nelson and Madison Mulyca. Our graduating seniors were recognized, Sean Koetzner and Andrew Lucks. I want to thank all the people that thelped with the Sunday school program this year, Judy Lucks, Corrinne VanOort, Betsy Nelson, Nicole Nelson, Abbie Nelson, Kate Nelson, Greg & Betsy Welsh, Thora Bond, Sandy Bianchine, Kim Ciezkowski, Deanna Johnson, Nancy Marotta, Carmen Mulyca, Carol Gregg and a special thanks to Jen Pirrone for keeping things running while I was out. The program can't run without all the great volunteers. VBS is the last week of July, the 26th-30th in the evenings. Judy Lucks has volunteered to be our leader again this year. It is a lot of work and if you can volunteer a little of your time to help it would be greatly appreciated. Judy did a great job last year and we look forward to another successful VBS 2009. Sunday school will resume the second Sunday of September after Labor Day weekend. I look forward to another great year. Enjoy your summer! May God bless you, Cheri Koetzner
